If you’re living the life you’ve grown accustomed to over the past 2 to 5 decades, then you may not be aware of the hurricane brewing in Tampa, Fla (not Isaac the hurricane). The Republic of the United States’ process of choosing the GOP presidential candidate for 2012, the 50 several state’s independent process of selecting delegates to attend the national GOP convention, and a host of other issues are being hijacked by the national GOP party and threaten to tell all states which individuals may vote and who is approved to participate from each state at the GOP convention this week. It all has to do with the 2012 National GOP Rules Committee: http://www.eagleforum.org/alert/2012/pdf/ConventionCommitteeonRulesOrdeofBusinessContactInfo.pdf

Here’s what I had to say to my Texas CD-3 delegates…..

Please vote to adopt the Minority Reports on Rules and urge your delegation to call for a roll call vote on all Rules-related votes.

I urge the Texas delegates to vote to adopt the Minority Reports on Rules AND to call for a roll call vote on all Rules-related votes.

 “Convention Without Walls”

The Republican Convention Releases Revised Convention-Week Schedule

Posted at 6:19 pm, August 26, 2012

Delegates, let’s review:

1.) The “ABOUT” page for the 2012 National GOP Convention website states:

“The basis of the national political convention was to open the process of nominating presidential candidates to the American people, rather than have the selection determined by the congressional caucuses. And, while the conventions have evolved into the modern broadcast and Internet-streamed events they are today, the modern-day national political convention still holds true to the idea of opening the process to the American people.”

2.) The schedule of speakers only lists one GOP presidential candidate (listed on the same site – http://www.gopconvention2012.com/news-press/press-releases/republican-convention-releases-revised-convention-week-schedule/ ) – So if the National Convention is to select the next GOP presidential candidate, WHY AREN’T BOTH GOP PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES SCHEDULED TO SPEAK to THE PEOPLE?  Could it be lack of microphone time? Possibly, because here’s the “approved list of speakers” that out-shines a qualified presidential nominee:

Mayor Mia Love (Saratoga Springs, UT)

Actress Janine Turner

Former U.S. Senator Rick Santorum

U.S. Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers

U.S. Senator Kelly Ayotte (NH)

Governor John Kasich (OH)

Governor Mary Fallin (OK)

Governor Bob McDonnell (VA)

Governor Scott Walker (WI)

Governor Brian Sandoval (NV)

Sher Valenzuela (small business owner, candidate for DE Lt. Governor)

Senate Republican Candidate Ted Cruz (TX)

Artur Davis

Governor Nikki Haley (SC)

Mrs. Luce’ Vela Fortuño

Mrs. Ann Romney

Governor Chris Christie (NJ)

Senate Republican Leader and Convention Temporary Chairman Mitch McConnell (KY)

Senator Rand Paul (KY)

Christopher Devlin-Young and Jeanine McDonnell

Remarks by Senator John McCain (AZ)

Attorney General Pam Bondi (FL) and Attorney

General Sam Olens (GA)

Governor Bobby Jindal (LA)

Senator John Thune (SD)

Senator Rob Portman (OH)

Governor Luis Fortuño (PR)

Governor Tim Pawlenty (MN)

Mike Huckabee

Condoleezza Rice

Governor Susana Martinez (NM)

vice presidential nominee Rep. Paul Ryan

U.S. Rep. Connie Mack (FL)

Newt and Callista Gingrich

Craig Romney

Governor former Jeb Bush (FL)

Bob White, chairman of Romney for President campaign

Grant Bennett

Tom Stemberg

former Massachusetts Lt. Governor Kerry Healey

Jane Edmonds, former Massachusetts Secretary of Workforce

Olympians Michael Eruzione, Derek Parra and Kim Rhode

U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (FL)

presidential nominee Mitt Romney

AND AFTER 10pm Thursday night….

Speaker Boehner declares convention adjourned

Tuesday through Thursday…all booked up with “approved” politicians – no time for THE OTHER Presidential nominee that the People chose.

Oooops!. This is definitely an oversight of the convention planners because after all, this is a “Presidential Nominating Convention”….according to the 2012 GOP Convention site. http://www.gopconvention2012.com/about/

There are over 50 people invited to address the GOP National Convention that are NOT Presidential candidates.

Are my Texas delegates in Tampa for a good time – or – are they there to conduct the business of the party that I claim to be a part of?

3.) “Convention Without Walls”… this is a misnomer listed on the GOP Convention website. This convention has walls higher than the Berlin Wall to the people that elect them. This convention has walls up to the people that go to Tampa to do the business of the GOP party; that is, the whole party. You know the one – the one that asks you every 2 years to vote for someone with an R behind their name? Silly me, I must have skipped the class on electing the “approved” people with an R behind their name.

The GOP establishment is no better than the Obama machine!

I hope my delegates from Texas CD-3 are enjoying themselves because I’m going to be giving them an earful for the next 4 years.

For more info on this hijacking of the grassroots participation at the GOP convention, read some reports from those in Tampa and attending the convention:

Be my guest to contact anyone listed on the links above.

Those who show up ARE the government. Is that you?
